CINCINNATI – The final weekly awards were announced for lacrosse by the American Athletic Conference today with University of Cincinnati junior Monica Borzillo earning a spot on the Honor Roll following another strong week of play that saw her continue to shatter records and climb higher in the national rankings as well. The Bearcats are currently 11-6 on the year after finishing second in the inaugural season of AAC play with a 4-1 record.

Borzillo had a monster week as she tallied 13 points on eight goals and five assists in two games. Against Stetson, she tied her single-game record for points with 11 as she netted seven goals and four assists, bringing her season total to 99 points which, at the time, was the top total in the NCAA. Then, at Florida, she joined the 100 point club as she recorded one goal and one assist. Following the weekend's games, Borzillo's 101 points rank her fourth nationally and just three off the national lead (104). To date, she has destroyed most single-season records at UC, including her 57 goals (was 47), 44 assists (was 34), 101 points (was 73), 124 shots (was 108), 94 shots on goal (was 81) and 4 game-winning goals (was 3), which she collected with the winner at Stetson.

For the season, Borzillo has earned seven weekly awards. She was named the attacker of the week on three occasions and earned a spot on the Honor Roll four times, including each of the last three weeks. Adding in Borzillo's accolade, the Bearcats garnered 21 total awards in 2019 including three attacker of the week (Borzillo three times), two midfielders of the week (Alyssa Adams and Sam Mlkvy), five freshman of the week (Kylie Nause five times), one defensive player of the week (Giuliana Durso), and 10 Honor Roll selections (four for Borzillo, three for Mlkvy, two for Taylor Gysin and one for Alyssa Adams).

The Bearcats return to the field Thursday in the second of two semifinal games being played at the Sheakley Athletic Center in Cincinnati. UC, the AAC Tournament's #2 seed, will face #3 seed Temple 45 minutes following the conclusion of the first semifinal game between #1 Florida and #4 Vanderbilt. The winners will meet for the title at 1 p.m. Saturday.
