TicketsSenior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School), redshirt sophomore Andy Mayhew (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood High School) and sophomore Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian High School) each posted a 2-over par 73 to tie for 52nd place in opening-round action of the Mason Rudolph Championship on Friday in Franklin, Tenn.
Squires finished the front nine at the Vanderbilt Legends Club's South Course (Par 71; 7,100 yards) at 1-over and held that score until suffering a triple bogey on the par-3 13th hole. He battled back to complete the day at 2-over thanks to birdies at No. 14 and No. 18.
Mayhew was even through six holes before back-to-back bogies on No. 7 and No. 8 led to a 2-over score at the turn. After another bogey on No. 12, Mayhew held a 3-over score until he birdied the final hole.
Osterburg was even through his first five holes before three consecutive bogies led to a 3-over score after the front nine. A birdie on No. 17 helped lead to his 2-over round on Friday.
Kentucky's Cullan Brown leads the 90-player event at 7-under 64.
As a team, the Bearcats are tied for 16th place at 10-over 294. Tennessee is first at 15-under 269.
Other UC finishes include Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham High School) tied for 73rd at 4-over 75 and freshman Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier High School) tied for 84th place at 6-over 77.
