• The Bearcats answered quickly with a three-run frame to lead by two. Wyatt Stapp walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and advanced over to third on a single by Joey Wiemer. A walk to Merritt loaded the bases. After two outs were recorded, DeAnna came through with a bases-loaded walk and then all base runners advanced again on a balk. A wild pitch allowed the third run of the inning to score

• NKU was able to even the score with a two-run homerun in the fifth

• However, UC was once again able to reply. The Bearcats got the lead back when DeAnna doubled, Eric Santiago walked, both moved into scoring position on a wild pitch, and another errant pitch allowed DeAnna to run home

• The Bearcats lead grew to 6-4 after Mercer doubled, stole third and scored on an error

• NKU got a late run on a solo homerun, but could do no more damage. The Norse threatened in the ninth with two runners on, but a double play ended the game
