CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball lost the series-opener against Xavier Thursday night in the final game to be played at Marge Schott Stadium this season by a score of 11-2.

• Four more runs were scored in the top of the second inning, starting with a single, double and a two-RBI base hit. Two wild pitches and a walk put runners in scoring position, which allowed two more runs to come home on another single

• A pair of doubles made it 9-0 through three frames
Bottom of the 4th
• The Bearcats broke through when Bellini doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Stapp single. Stapp was able to score later from third base when Griffin Merritt grounded out

• After a two hour rain delay, the Musketeers tacked two on with a pair of solo homeruns
