MASON, Ohio – University of Cincinnati baseball evened the series with Xavier in a 10-4 victory Friday night in front of a packed crowd at Prasco Park.

• UC improves to 26-28 on the season and Xavier drops to 24-29
• Evan Shawver went 4.0 innings allowing three runs and striking out three
• Nathan Moore followed with 2.1 innings of relief, striking out four while allowing a hit and a run
• A.J. Kullman was ice cold, entering a one-run game and striking out five of the nine batters he faced in 2.2 frames to get the save
• Mitch Holding had a big day, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and was a triple shy of the cycle
• Jace Mercer, A.J. Bumpass and Cole Murphy all had two hits with Mercer and Murphy hitting doubles and Bumpass a homerun
• Joey Bellini also had a double in the game as six of the Bearcats' eleven hits were for extra bases

• Xavier took an early lead with two runs in the first. A walk and two-run homerun to left field resulted in the runs
Bottom of the 2nd
• The Musketeers added one run with a two-out rally. Two walks set up a scoring situation and a base hit sent the lead runner home
Top of the 3rd
• The Bearcats got on the board when Murphy reached on an error and eventually came home on a sacrifice fly by Bellini
Top of the 4th
• The lead transferred to UC after a big three-run fourth. Holding and Mercer both doubled to trade spots on the bases. After Bumpass walked, Murphy followed suit with another double to clear the bases
Top of the 5th
• The Bearcats added a run when Bellini doubled and scored on a base hit by Holding
Bottom of the 6th
• Xavier was able to get one back on a walk, single, wild pitch and a sacrifice fly
Top of the 8th
• After a scoreless seventh, Bumpass crushed a ball over the right field wall for insurance. Murphy was hit during the next at-bat then came in to score on a two-error play during the next at-bat, putting the score at 7-4
