CINCINNATI – The addition of Ben Pelz to the 2019 University of Cincinnati men's soccer fall roster was announced Monday by head coach Hylton Dayes.

A transfer goalkeeper, Pelz spent the past two seasons at Middle Georgia State of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

"Ben is an experienced goalkeeper who will help solidify our goalkeeper position," said Dayes. "We are fortunate to have added him to our roster this late in the recruiting process. He is a good shot-stopper, commands his box well, and is good with his feet."

At Middle Georgia State, Pelz was a two-year starter who was the conference stats leader as a freshman and a team captain as a sophomore. With recent training experience with several pro teams, Pelz previously played with FSV Salmrohr in the highest level of semi-professional soccer in Germany, Oberliga. In addition, the native German was trained by the former Bundesliga goalkeeper.
