CINCINNATI – Members of the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team joined volunteers and youth from the local community to clean up Nassau Park earlier this week.

The Bearcats spent time playing games with children and later worked to paint basketball backboards, clear brush and mulch the playground area.

"We appreciate it and these kids are loving it and it's making them feel like this is their park," said Angela Carloss, service crew leader for Cincinnati Parks.

"It means a lot to them so it's a great feeling," said UC redshirt-senior forward Trevon Scott.

"To me it just shows that we care and that we're more than just hoopers," said junior guard Trevor Moore. "It's a great chance to connect with other people and really get to know people. We're all a family at the end of the day, so we do what we can to help each other out."

The effort also brought attention to the need for volunteerism at Cincinnati parks. If you are interested in working to enhance your park, please contact Cincinnati Parks today at https://www.cincinnatiparks.com/vounteer/ or call 513-321-6070.
