Men’s Soccer Crosstown Showdown vs. Xavier Moved to Nippert Stadium

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati men's soccer's Sept. 6 matchup with Xavier has been moved from Gettler Stadium to Nippert Stadium. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. ET.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati men's soccer's Sept. 6 matchup with Xavier has been moved from Gettler Stadium to Nippert Stadium. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
 
Admission to the match will be free of charge. Fans are encouraged to sit on the west side of the stadium where restrooms and concessions will be available. Cash parking will be offered at Calhoun Garage for $5.
 
Nippert Stadium, home of Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati, has recently been the host to a pair of United States National Team matches. The men's team took on Venezuela in June, while the women's team faced New Zealand in 2017.  
 
The Bearcats hold a 25-14-6 edge in the series against the Musketeers, which has been played annually since 1974. In the last meeting on the UC campus, the Red & Black played XU to a 1-1 draw in front of a Gettler Stadium record crowd of 2,013 fans on Sept. 8, 2017.
 
UC's 2019 fall schedule features 17 total contests, with 10 at home. Highlighted home matches include four NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago – West Virginia, UConn, SMU, and UCF. The Bearcats will first welcome 2018 NCAA qualifier Michigan to Gettler Stadium on Aug. 17 in exhibition action. See the complete schedule here.
