I have been the Assistant to the Athletic Director at UC for 13 years. My first day on the job was the day before we played Ohio State in 2006. At that time, I had just moved to Cincinnati from Sandusky, Ohio and truthfully didn't know who to root for at the game. Fortunately, I am 100 percent behind the Bearcats now and there is no confusion where my allegiance lies. GO BEARCATS! The best part of my role at UC is seeing the evolution of our student-athletes. Our young people come to UC and are immersed into their respective sports programs, academics, and navigating their way through life on campus. It is a lot of time management and anxiety and I am their biggest advocate. Our student-athlete's lives are regimented from sun up to sun down and I give them all the credit in the world.
I am proud to say that I recently completed my Master's in Sports Administration (SPAD) degree at UC and will graduate this August. Going through the SPAD program was a terrific experience. My goal was to complete my Master's degree before my son Jack starts classes in CEAS at UC at the end of August.
In my spare time, I enjoy going on sailing vacations with my husband John and boys, Jack and Scott. We have sailed the British Virgin Islands five times and Tahiti once – in 20 foot swells! I also like to run 5K and 10K races. If I'm feeling brave, I'll throw in a half-marathon. What people probably don't know about me is that I am a music junkie. Other than sports, I enjoy listening to music of different genres. I listen to artist such as Ozzy Osbourne, anything Motown, my kid's rap music, and all the way to piano music by George Winston. I am in a Led Zeppelin phase right now. I can't shake In The Eveningout of my head. I also enjoy reading. It's how I wind down. My favorite book is Killer Angelsby Michael Shaara.
Favorite UC Moment:
Dan Hoard calling the #Pike2Binns touchdown
Favorite UC Student-Athletes from over the years:
-Sean Kilpatrick (Great first impression and New York accent)
-Cortez Broughton, Kimoni Fitz, and Marquise Copeland (Tough football players with hearts of gold);
-Kyle Washington (A big guy with personality to match).
-Annette Echikunwoke and Anne Pace– (These ladies will go far in life! Brains, personality, humor and strength.)
Favorite thing about the Lindner Athletic Center:
-The music in the atrium (of course).
Favorite structure on the UC Campus:
-Nippert Stadium. It feels like home.
Favorite thing about working at UC:
-The students and their energy. They make me laugh and give me hope.
Go-to co-workers with a wealth of knowledge:
-John Widecan, Director of Football Operations and Ryan Koslen, Associate AD/Sports Communications
