// LAST TIME OUT
UC (1-4) fell, 5-1, to Western Michigan on Saturday afternoon at the WMU Soccer Complex in Kalamazoo, Michigan. An early penalty-kick conversion by WMU set the tone for a tough first half for the Red & Black who went into the locker room facing a 4-0 deficit. After an even opening 20 minutes of the second half, the Bearcats gave up another score to fall behind 5-0 in the 68th minute. UC did manage to get something going late when junior Creggton Charlton (Clarendon, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Daytona State) deposited a goal into the back of the net during the 85th minute to bring the score to 5-1, Broncos, at the final horn.

// SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
No. 24 WVU (3-1-1) enters Tuesday's match with serious momentum after recording a pair of results against top-15 teams last week, including, most recently, knocking off 15th-ranked Coastal Carolina, 5-2, on Friday in Morgantown, West Virginia. Freshman forward Rodrigo Robles Grajera scored a pair of goals in the victory. On the season, senior defender Pascal Derwaritsch and senior midfielder Andres Muriel Albino join Robles Grajera with two scores, while junior goalkeeper Steven Tekesky has 14 saves and a pair of shutouts. In the preseason, the Mountaineers were picked to finish third in the six-team Mid-American Conference (MAC).

// WEST VIRGINIA SERIES
Friday will be the seventh all-time meeting between the two teams, with the Red & Black coming up short in all six previous matchups. UC dropped a 2-0 decision last season in Morgantown. The last meeting in Cincinnati between the former BIG EAST league-mates came in 2011 when the Bearcats dropped a 1-0 decision.
