CINCINNATI – In conjunction with the American Athletic Conference, University of Cincinnati women's basketball announced its complete 2019-20 schedule Thursday.
The Bearcats will play 17 regular-season home games inside Fifth Third Arena (FTA), as well as 12 contests on the road.
UC will look to protect home court against an impressive list of opponents. Marquee non-conference matchups include Utah (Nov. 5), Ohio State (Nov. 13), and Pittsburgh (Dec. 21), while UCF (Jan. 12), USF (Feb. 2), and UConn (Feb. 26) visit FTA during AAC action.
Following a historic 2018-19 campaign, a tough out-of-league slate awaits the Bearcats. Included are five teams that reached postseason play a season ago, seven that won 20 or more games, and two that played in the NCAA Tournament.
Playing its first five games of the regular season at home, UC's challenging schedule will tip off with Utah (Nov. 5) coming to Cincinnati. After facing the Utes, the Red & Black will host Saint Louis (Nov. 10) before welcoming Ohio State (Nov. 13). Following back-to-back home games against Ball State (Nov. 16) and Chattanooga (Nov. 19), the Bearcats will take part in the Puerto Rico Clásico over the Thanksgiving holiday. In San Juan, Puerto Rico, UC will square off against reigning Big Ten champion and NCAA Elite Eight participant Iowa (Nov. 27) as well as Patriot League champion and NCAA qualifier Bucknell (Nov. 28).
Cincinnati will travel to Richmond, Virginia to battle VCU (Dec. 5) prior to returning to the Queen City to welcome regional rival Miami (OH) (Dec. 8). The 2019 Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout against Xavier (Dec. 14) will be played at the Cintas Center.
The Red & Black will round out its non-conference slate with three-straight home contests: Alabama A&M (Dec. 17), Pittsburgh (Dec. 21), and Coppin State (Dec. 30).
After a week off over the holiday season, AAC action will get underway with a pair of contests on the road -- at 2019 WNIT participant USF (Jan. 5) and at Memphis (Jan. 8).
Home league competition will tip-off with NCAA Tournament qualifier UCF (Jan. 12) coming to the Queen City. Following a trip to Tulane (Jan. 18), UC will have a two-game homestand welcoming WNIT qualifier Houston (Jan. 22) and Temple (Jan. 26) to FTA.
The Red & Black will then travel to Storrs, Connecticut to take on perennial Final Four contender UConn (Jan. 30) before returning home to host USF (Feb. 2). The Bearcats will visit SMU (Feb. 8) and then welcome Tulsa (Feb. 12) prior to a two-game road swing – at UCF (Feb. 15) and at Houston (Feb. 18).
UC will close the regular season with three of its final four games at home – vs. Tulane (Feb. 23), vs. UConn (Feb. 26), at Wichita State (Feb. 29), and Senior Night vs. ECU (March 2).
The 2020 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship will be held March 6-9 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Sporting a new look in 2019-20, UC will aim to continue the momentum from last year's historic season which included consecutive postseason wins for the first time in program history (WNIT quarterfinals), first 20-win season (24) since 2003, first time with 12 conference wins since 1999, and highest-ever finish in the AAC (third place).
With nine newcomers to the program in 2019-20, the Red & Black returns five starters, as well as Illinois transfer Addaya Moore (Granite City, Ill./Granite City/Illinois). After 15 years, University of Cincinnati Athletics, in collaboration with UC Student Government and Skyline Chili, will once again celebrate the start of basketball season with a "Bearcats Madness" event at Fifth Third Arena.
Festivities start at 11:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 4, following the football game against UCF.

Admission is free. Fifth Third Arena doors open at 10 p.m.
