// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 25-27
The opening set was close until a 7-0 run gave UC a 14-6 lead. Damjana Cabarkapa got things started with a kill before two attack errors and an ace by Heckenmueller caused a timeout. After the break, Thompson and Karoline Fauske both had kills and Xavier had another error. After six great serves by Heckenmueller, a serve just out of bounds ended the streak. The Musketeers were not able to score consecutive points the rest of the way until they were facing set point. Down 24-15, a UC attack error and a kill allowed Xavier to get back-to-back points, but Thompson ended the set on a kill of her own

Set 2: UC 25-17
Set two started with a 3-0 Musketeers run, but that advantage would not stick. Down by one, the Bearcats scored five straight points on kills by Cabarkapa, Fauske and Thompson and a Mallon ace to lead 7-4. Xavier put together two other 3-0 runs later on, but a Mallon kill and an error stopped them, It was a one-point set at 16-15, but three kills from Thompson and one from Adria Oliver widened the lead. The final three points were scored by the Bearcats, coming via an Oliver kill, XU attack error and Mallon kill

Set 3: UC 25-15
Neither team was able to get out in front much in set three until UC pulled away at the end. The set was tied at eight, nine and ten before the Musketeers took their first lead in the middle of a set, 12-10. The Bearcats answered strong. A kill by Cabarkapa and two Mallon aces flipped the score to 13-12 in favor of UC. After Xavier tied it at 13, a 4-0 run courtesy of a Thompson kill, Fauske kill and two Cabarkapa aces gave all the momentum to the Bearcats. Eight of the final nine points were by UC, including three consecutive Thompson kills and an Oliver kill to make the match go final.
