CINCINNATI - The 2019 Purdue Fall Invitational came to a close Sunday with the University of Cincinnati tennis program collecting three more singles victories to close out a very successful stay in West Lafayette, Ind., that included a 10-3 record in singles and a 5-2 mark in doubles.

Following the final round of action, Assistant Coach Katarina Adamovic had the following to say about the play of the Bearcats:
"This was a great tournament for the girls to get some matches under their belts and show us what we need to keep working on. The girls were tested in many areas this weekend with a lot of good matches and they competed extremely well. This was a good start to the season and the step forward to keep working and keep improving."
// UNDEFEATED
Two of the Bearcats playing singles at Purdue both went undefeated on the weekend with Alexia Coutino posting a perfect 4-0 mark and Anna Philp going 3-0. The duo both played in the Purdue Pete Draw and closed out their respective weekends with straight-set victories. Coutino defeated Maddie Yergler (DePaul), 6-2, 6-2, while Philp downed Lenka Antonijevic (DePaul), 6-3, 6-4.
// MORE SINGLES
Both Ioana Guna and Amanda Huser played one last singles match Sunday as well with Guna claiming a three-set victory and Huser falling in straight sets. Guna, who finished the weekend with a 2-1 record in singles, downed Milana Lysova (Miami), 2-6, 6-2, 7-5, while Huser dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to Lipscomb's Eleanor Chapman to finish 1-2 in her draw.
// OVERALL
Over the three days of competition, the Bearcats put together a combined record of 10-3 in singles play and also were 5-2 in doubles action. Philp led the way with a perfect 6-0 mark as she was 3-0 in singles and combined with Huser for a 3-0 mark in doubles on their way to winning the Purdue Doubles draw. Coutino was a combined 6-2 on the weekend while Guna was 4-3 and Huser 4-2.
// NEXT SERVE
The Bearcats will return to action next weekend as they are set to take part in the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Ind. The three-day competition will run Friday through Sunday on the Indiana campus.
