Commissiong Collects American Weekly Honor Roll Accolade

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati men's soccer junior forward Darryn Commissiong (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary Catholic) was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon after recording five points last week as the Bearcats went 1-1.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati men's soccer junior forward Darryn Commissiong (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary Catholic) was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon after recording five points last week as the Bearcats went 1-1.
 
The junior scored the first goal of the game in a 2-1 overtime home loss to No. 24 West Virginia on Tuesday. He followed with an assist on the initial score of the match and later sent the game to OT with a goal in the 90th minute in a 4-3 OT win at Bowling Green on Saturday.
 
On the season, the forward leads the Bearcats with seven points (3 goals, 1 assist).
 
The weekly accolade is the second time this year UC has been recognized by the league with freshman midfielder Kyle Healy (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) and junior goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Sacred Heart) named Rookie of the Week and Weekly Honor Roll recipient, respectively, on Sept. 9.

UC will begin American Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 28 when it welcomes Memphis to Gettler Stadium for a 7 p.m. first touch. Admission to the match will be free of charge as part of the season-long Experience UC initiative.
