University of Cincinnati swimming and diving starts the 2019-20 season this Friday with a dual meet at Indianapolis. The event is slated to begin at 4 p.m.

• The Bearcats also opened the season against Indianapolis the past two seasons
• Last season UC won 245-44 on the women's side and 166.33-133.66 on the men's side
• Claire Schuermann got the season started on a high note with two NCAA Zone-qualifying dives to win both 1-meter and 3-meter
• In swimming, the Bearcats swept numerous events. Three UC swimmers posted the fastest times in the women's 1000 free, women's 200 free, women's 100 breast, women's 200 butterfly, women's 50 free, women's 100 free, women's 200 breast, men's 200 breast, women's 500 free, women's 100 fly and women's 200 IM
• Out of those 18 individuals who helped the Bearcats earn an event sweep last year, only four do not return to the roster this season
• In the start of the 2017-18 season, UC women won 215-85 while the men won 188-111
// READY FOR A REPEAT
• UC's men's team is coming off a back-to-back American Athletic Conference championship while the women were runner-up the past two years
• Six of the seven individual winners from the 2019 AAC championship return this season: Alex Fortman (100 free), Din Selmanovic (200 free, 500 free), Tyler Jones (1650 free), Blake Hanna (200 back), Parker Saladin (200 fly) and Dominic Polling (200 IM). The only individual winner not returning is Louis Hunt, who capture the title in platform diving last season
• Also, every AAC weekly men's or women's swimmer or diver of the week who was honored last season returns except for Hunt in men's diving
• Currently, 26 spots in the women's top-ten individual events at UC and 38 spots in the men's top ten of individual events all-time are occupied by current Bearcats swimmers

• After the meet at Indianapolis, UC travels to Oxford, Ohio to face Miami at Michigan State on Saturday, October 12
• The Bearcats return to Keating Aquatic Center for their home-opener on Saturday, October 26 for a meet against Denison
• Diving will begin at 10 a.m. with swimming at 1 p.m. on the 26th
