University of Cincinnati swimming and diving continues its season on Saturday with a tri-meet versus Miami (OH) and Michigan State in Oxford, Ohio.
// THE COMPETITION
• UC faced Miami twice last season
• First, the Bearcats swept a home dual meet against the RedHawks. The women beat Miami for the first time since January 2001 with a score of 181-119. The men won 158.5-141.5
• A few weeks later at the Miami Invitational, UC finished second on the women's and men's side with both of Miami's teams winning
• The RedHawks have faced Michigan, Navy, and Akron this season, falling to all three opponents
• UC last faced Michigan State in November 2016 in a dual meet where it swept with 23 combined wins. The Bearcats broke six pool records in the meet
• The Spartans were swept at Iowa to open the season by the women beat Northern Iowa at the meet
// LAST TIME OUT
• The Bearcats opened the season with a split at Indianapolis last Friday
• The men won 166.50-133.50 while the women fell 158-142
• Claire Schuermann was named the AAC Women's Diver of the Week after winning both of her events
• Blake Hanna won both the 100 back and 200 back
• Dalton Lillibridge won the 100 breast, 200 breast and was part of the winning 400 medley relay team
• Parker Saladin was also part of that relay team and won the 200 fly
• Jordyn Ryan picked up two wins in the 1000 free and 500 free
// COMING HOME
• The Bearcats return to Keating Aquatic Center for their home-opener on Saturday, October 26 for a meet against Denison
• Diving will begin at 10 a.m. with swimming at 1 p.m.
