TicketsCINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati sophomore Sam Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS) registered his best finish of the fall season Tuesday tying for 21st place after carding a 7-over par 70-75-78=223 at the Crooked Stick Invitational at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
Jean and the Bearcats battled windy conditions on a difficult course during the two-day event. He finished with par or better scores on 40 of 54 holes, including an eight-birdie performance during 36 holes Monday. The effort marks Jean's second career top-25 finish.
Marquette's Tyler Leach claimed individual medalist honors at 6-under 68-68-74=210.
UC redshirt-sophomore Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham HS) posted the best round by a Bearcat on Tuesday with a 1-over 73 effort. He climbed 13 spots on the final day to finish tied for 56th at 14-over 78-79-73=230. Other Bearcats results included sophomore Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier HS) and freshman Cole Harris (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS) tying for 72nd place. Amlung ended the tournament at 22-over 77-78-83=238 while Harris finished at 22-over 80-77-81=238. Junior Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian HS) completed the event in 74th place at 24-over 83-78-79=240.
Georgia won the team title following a 3-over 283-289-295=867 result. Cincinnati finished 14th at 60-over 305-308-311=924.
