TicketsSARASOTA, Fla. – University of Cincinnati women's golf senior Alyssa Burritt (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) and her team are both tied for second after one round at the 42nd FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.
Burritt carded a career-low round of 68 for the second time in a week with a 4-under-par score Sunday, featuring six birdies, to sit just one stroke off the lead. After shooting back-to-back rounds of 293 and 292, respectively, to close play at the College of Charleston Palmetto Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday, UC recorded its best single-round performance of the season Sunday with a 285 which is just two shots off the leader South Alabama.
Freshman Paighton Masterson (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) also turned in a career-best performance with a round of 70 (-2) to place in a tie for 10th overall. The rookie's score was highlighted by four birdie scores.
Other Bearcats also went low with junior Angela Lopez (Bogotá, Colombia) shooting a 1-over-par 73 with birdies on holes 11 and 12. Senior Daniela Murcia (Bogotá, Colombia) turned in a 74 with three birdie holes.
Second-round action will begin Monday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. ET off of holes 1 and 10. Live scoring and results will be available on BirdieFire.
