CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior guard Jarron Cumberland (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington HS) was named a preseason second-team All-American by Sporting News on Thursday. 

It marks the latest preseason award for Cumberland, who recently was tabbed the American Athletic Conference Preseason Player of the Year by league coaches, selected as one of 20 players on the Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year preseason watch list by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, named a preseason first-team All-American by Lindy's Sports Magazine and chosen as a preseason third-team All-American by NBCSports.com.
  
Named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press and the AAC Player of the Year last season, Cumberland averaged 18.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.5 minutes during 35 games in 2018-19. He claimed the AAC's Most Outstanding Player honor, averaging 23.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists during the league tournament, setting a championship game record with 33 points against No. 11 Houston.

Cumberland ranked among AAC leaders in eight categories in 2018-19: points (third at 18.8), three-point field goal percentage (seventh at .388), three-point field goals made (seventh at 2.3), free throw percentage (10th at .773), assists (11th at 3.6), assist-to-turnover ratio (13th at 1.3), minutes played (14th at 32.5) and steals (15th at 1.1).

Cumberland scored 657 points during 2018-19, the 10th highest tally for a season in program history while becoming the 53rd member of Cincinnati's 1,000-point club. He enters 2019-20 ranked 20th on the all-time scoring list with 1,363 career points.

A limited number of tickets remain for Tennessee (Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m.), Memphis (Thursday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m.), Houston (Saturday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m.) and Wichita State (Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m.). Only Upper Sideline tickets remain for contests against Tennessee, Houston and Memphis.

The Bearcats play host to Thomas More in a preseason exhibition game on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. before opening the 2019-20 campaign at Ohio State on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 8:30 p.m.

Mini plans for the 2019-20 University of Cincinnati men's basketball season at Fifth Third Arena are on sale now. 

Available for $200, the five-game mini plan offers Bearcats fans the option to pick three games from contests against Tennessee (Wednesday, Dec. 18), UConn (Wednesday, Jan. 1), Houston (Saturday, Feb. 1), Memphis (Thursday, Feb. 13) and Wichita State (Sunday, Feb. 23) and two other games from the collection of games against Thomas More (exhibition on Thursday, Oct. 31), Drake (Monday, Nov. 11), Alabama A&M (Thursday, Nov. 14), UNLV (Saturday, Nov. 30), Vermont (Tuesday, Dec. 3), Colgate (Saturday, Dec. 14), Tulsa (Wednesday, Jan. 8), ECU (Sunday, Jan. 19), SMU (Tuesday, Jan. 28), UCF (Wednesday, Feb. 19) and Temple (Saturday, Mar. 7).

UC Athletics announced on Wednesday, Sept. 25, that there would be no public on-sale for 2019-2020 men's basketball season tickets. Following the season ticket holder seat upgrade process and exclusive sale to waiting list deposit purchasers, season tickets are sold out for the Bearcats' second year in the newly renovated Fifth Third Arena.

Fans interested in securing season tickets for future seasons at Fifth Third Arena are encouraged to place a $50 deposit to join the season-ticket waitlist, which is organized on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can join by visiting GoBearcats.com/waitlist.

Important to note, the only way fans will guarantee their seats to the 2020 Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout against Xavier will be by purchasing 2020-21 season tickets. 

// WATCH THE BEARCATS PLAY IN CHICAGO
UC men's basketball will take on Iowa as part of the Chicago Legends event, Saturday, Dec. 21 at the United Center in Chicago. The Bearcats-Hawkeyes contest will start at 9 p.m. ET. The matchup is the second of two games played as part of the event which begins with Dayton playing Colorado at 6:30 p.m. ET.
