// LAST TIME OUT
UC (5-8-1, 1-2-1 AAC) dropped a 1-0 decision to IUPUI Tuesday night at Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana in its final non-conference match of the season.

A critical juncture came early in the second half when junior Creggton Charlton's (Clarendon, Jamaica/Clarendon College/Daytona State) penalty kick in the 48th minute was corralled. The home team responded quickly with a free-kick conversion just steps from the UC box -- the eventual game-winner -- in the 50th minute.

Charlton paced the UC offense with three shots, including two on target. Five other Bearcats also recorded a shot on the night. On the defensive end, junior goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Sacred Heart) saved a pair of shots to bring his season total to conference-leading 52 stops.

On the season, junior forward Darryn Commissiong (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary Catholic) leads the Bearcats with 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists), while Charlton has 9 points (4 goals, 1 assist).

// LAWRENCE & COMMISSIONG HONORED
A pair of Bearcats were recognized by the league Monday with Lawrence named AAC Goalkeeper of the Week, while Commissiong was picked for the Weekly Honor Roll.

Lawrence notched his first clean sheet of the season with four stops in a 5-0 home win on Oct. 1 vs. Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW). He followed with a season-high-tying six saves in 1-1 OT draw at Temple on Oct. 5. Entering Saturday's match, the junior has 42 saves on the year which is tops in the league.

Also against PFW, UC's offense was paced by Commissiong who dished out an assist and recorded a pair of goals – both within 10 minutes of each other late in the second half – to bring his season total to 12 points. For the season, the junior's goals total (5) ranked sixth in the conference, while his points total tied for eighth.

The weekly awards mark the third time this year UC has been recognized by the league. Commissiong previously landed on the Honor Roll on Sept. 23, while Lawrence did the same on Sept. 9.

// SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
No. 12 SMU (11-1-1, 2-1-1 AAC) has won two of its last three matches including, most recently, a 5-0 home shutout of Stetson on Tuesday. Eddie Munjoma led the Mustangs with a pair of goals, while Gabriel Costa, Knut Ahlander, and Brandon Terwege each added a score. Goalkeeper Grant Makela saved five shots for his first shutout of the season. On the year, SMU boats a high-powered offense with Munjoma leading the league in points with 26 (13 goals, 10 assists), while Garrett McLaughlin totals 22 points (9 goals, 4 assists), Costa 21 points (7 goals, 7 assists), and Ahlander 20 points (6 goals, 8 assists). In the preseason, the Mustangs were picked to finish second in the eight-team AAC with Talen Maples selected to the all-conference team.

// SMU SERIES
UC trails in the all-time series 1-10-0 and is aiming for its first result against SMU since 1998. The Bearcats dropped a 3-1 decision last season in Dallas with Lawrence notching seven saves. In the last meeting in Cincinnati, the Red & Black fell 2-0 at Gettler Stadium in 2017.
