University of Cincinnati swimming and diving opens its home season at the Keating Aquatic Center on Saturday versus Denison. Diving will begin at 10 a.m. with swimming following at 1 p.m.
 
// THE COMPETITION
• Denison is one of the top programs in Division III
• The Big Red men were the preseason favorites in the top-25 poll and won their fifth national championship since the 2011 season last year
• The women's team sat in second in the national preseason poll and were third -place finishers at the NCAA D-III Championships in 2019
• Denison started this season at the Akron Zips Classic where the men finished second out of four teams and the women finished fourth out of five teams
 
// LAST TIME OUT 
• The Bearcats had a great meet two weeks ago on the road at Miami facing the RedHawks and the Spartans of Michigan State
• UC's men and women captured victories over both opponents
• The men beat Michigan State 191-109 and Miami 227-71
• The women beat Michigan State 180-120 and Miami 159-141
• UC combined to win 19 events at the meet
• For their strong performances, Claire Schuermann was named the AAC Women's Diver of the Week, Dylan Porter was named the AAC Men's Dive of the Week and Dominic Polling was named the Men's Swimmer of the Week

• The Bearcats have put forth some of the best times in the conference so far this season
Dominic Polling has the second-best time in the 100 free, 100 breast and 200 IM
Din Selmanovic leads the league in the 200 free and the 500 free
Toby Van Dyke is second in the 500 free and first in the 1000 free
Tyler Jones sits third-fastest time in the 1000 free
Blake Hanna owns the quickest time in the 50 back and is second in the 100 back and third in the 200 back
Joey Puglessi ranks third in the 50 back
Dalton Lillibridge is third in the 200 breast
Michael Balcerak ranks second in 100 fly and third in the 200 fly
Parker Saladin holds the fastest time in the 200 fly
Dylan Porter has the second-highest 1-meter score and 3-meter diving
Lina Kutsko leads the conference in the 50 free and is second in the 100 fly
Rocky Laabs currently ranks second in the 1000 free
Claire Schuermann is second 1-meter diving and third in 3-meter

• The Bearcats remain home to take on IUPUI on Friday, November 1
• Diving will begin at 4 p.m. with swimming starting at 6 p.m.
