University of Cincinnati volleyball continues its current homestand by hosting regional rival Dayton in a midweek match on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 p.m.
 
// PROMOTIONS
• UC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is holding a trick or treat event at Fifth Third Arena prior to the match
• The event begins when doors open at 6 p.m.
• Fans that plan to take part in trick or treating are asked to register here
• UC students that check in at the Fans First Center will receive a voucher for a hot dog and a beverage at the concession stand

// OPPONENT OVERVIEW
• UC holds a slight 23-22-1 advantage over Dayton in the series history
• The two teams played an exciting match last season when the Bearcats won in five sets on the road
• UC won the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-17 before Dayton came back to take the next two, 28-26 and 25-22
• The Bearcats pulled off the victory 15-12 in the final set
• Prior to last season, the Flyers had not been beat since 2008
• Dayton won 3-0 at a neutral site in 2017 and 3-0 at a neutral site in 2013
• The Bearcats won in five at home in 2008
• Dayton is 16-6 overall this season and a perfect 9-0 in Atlantic-10 play
• The Flyers have lost versus Texas A&M (3-2), versus No. 10 Florida (3-2), at No. 25 Louisville (3-0), vs Missouri (3-1), vs SMU (3-0) and at Ohio State (3-1)

• Fifth Third Arena has become a lethal environment for any competition coming in to face the Bearcats
• Dating back to 2016, UC is 16-2 in its last 18 matches played in the arena with 14 match sweeps
• In those 18 matches, the Bearcats have lost just nine sets while winning 53
 
// NATIONAL RANKINGS
• UC continues to be one of the top offensive teams in the nation
• The Bearcats are the national leader in kills per set and are second in assists per set, sixth in aces per set and eighth in hitting percentage
• For the second season in a row, Jordan Thompson is the national leader in kills, kills per set, points and points per set
Armania Heckenmueller enters this week of action as the country's leader in assists per set
Maria Mallon ranks in the top 50 in aces per set
