CINCINNATI – Preseason All-American Athletic Conference selections IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) and Antoinette Miller (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) combined to score 43 points Tuesday night in a 67-52 University of Cincinnati women's basketball exhibition win over the University of Charleston at Fifth Third Arena.

CINCINNATI – Preseason All-American Athletic Conference selections IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) and Antoinette Miller (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) combined to score 43 points Tuesday night in a 67-52 University of Cincinnati women's basketball exhibition win over the University of Charleston at Fifth Third Arena.
 
Thomas poured in a game-high 26 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the field and grabbed seven rebounds. Miller chipped in 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers.
 
In their first exhibition action of the preseason, the Bearcats took a 15-12 edge into the second quarter and proceeded to outscore the Golden Eagles 23-13 in the period – including a 9-0 run to end the stanza – to go up 38-25 at the halftime break.
 
In the third quarter, Miller led the way for the Red & Black with five points to allow her team to go into the final period with a 51-40 advantage. In the final 10 minutes, UC imposed its will on NCAA Division II Charleston, increasing its lead to as many as 19 points with 4:21 left to play. Down the stretch, the Bearcats fended off any Golden Eagles comeback attempts to win the game, 67-52.
 
Senior forward Angel Rizor (Zebulon, N.C./East Wake) dominated on the backboard with a game-high 12 rebounds, to go along with eight points and four assists. Senior guard Sam Rodgers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East) also added four assists as well as a game-high five steals.
 
As a team, UC controlled the paint with 50 points and turned 26 Charleston turnovers into 31 points. The Bearcats shot the ball at a 44% clip for the game and scored 17 points off of 14 offensive rebounds.
