// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC 25-15
Thompson got things started with a kill and UC went on to lead 7-3 early on after another Thompson kill, Thompson ace and Oliver kill. A big 8-0 run kept the Bearcats in control. It started with a Mallon kill, attack error and another Mallon kill. After a Flyers timeout, Thompson and Mallon had back-to-back kills and Cabarkapa and Fauske followed with a block. The streak continued on as Mallon came out with another kill after a second Dayton timeout. Oliver and Heckenmueller brought it to set point with a block before Mallon won the set on a kill.

Set 2: UC 25-20
UC scored three-straight out of a 6-6 tie to take a lead they would not give up. An Oliver kill and back-to-back Mallon kills set up the advantage. Dayton was able to tie the set at nine, but another Mallon kill followed by a Dayton attack error and block by Cabarkapa and Fauske pushed the Bearcats back ahead. Kerstin Ficker made it 16-11 with an ace. This time, the Bearcats did not let the Flyers get any closer. A Fauske kill and Thompson kill closed out the set.

Set 3: UD 25-22
The Bearcats made a late run but the Flyers were able to extend the match with a set three victory. UC had to call an early timeout as it found itself trailing 6-2. Out of the break, the Bearcats scored the next five points to switch the lead. Kills from Thompson, Mallon and Oliver helped lead the scoring surge. However, Dayton worked back to tie the set at nine then take a 10-9 advantage. UC was able to keep it close the whole way and nearly overtook the set at the end. Down 24-19, Fauske started a run with a kill and two attack errors by the Flyers made it 24-21. Yet another attack error out of a timeout put the UC deficit at two, but Dayton won the set on a service error.

Set 4: UC 25-19
UC got right back in control in the fourth set. Fauske started it off with a kill and the Bearcats started to pull away with a 5-0 run later on. Thompson tied the set at six, then a Mallon kill, Thompson kill, Mallon block and another Mallon kill made it 10-6 in favor of the Bearcats. The lead grew to five, 16-11, on a Thompson ace. Three consecutive kills by Thompson down the stretch put the score at 23-17. An attack error made it set point and another Thompson kill ended the match.
