  • The University of Cincinnati's men's basketball team greets Alabama A&M at Fifth Third Arena on Thursday, Nov. 14. The contest tips at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by FOX Sports Ohio and 700 WLW. It is also available outside the FOX Sports Ohio viewing area on ESPN3.

  • The Bearcats claimed an 81-59 victory in their home opener against Drake on Monday. Four Bearcats scored in double figures led by Jaevin Cumberland's 17 points and five 3-pointers. Chris McNeal had 12 points, four assists and three steals. Chris Vogt added 12 points and two blocks inside. Jarron Cumberland hit a trio of 3-pointers as part of his 11 points. 
  • Alabama A&M dropped a 74-52 decision at UAB Monday. Cameron Alford led the Bulldogs with 14 points while Garret Hicks added 12 points and a pair of threes. 
  • Cincinnati and Alabama A&M have never met on the hardwood prior to Thursday's matchup. The Bearcats are 17-0 all-time against current members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

  • Alabama A&M was picked to finish fourth in the SWAC according to a preseason poll of the league's coaches and sports information directors. 
  • The Bulldogs finished 5-27 overall last season, tying for ninth place in the league at 4-14. 
  • Freshman guard Cameron Alford has led Alabama A&M in scoring in both games this season, scoring 14 points apiece in losses at Tennessee State (11/5) and UAB (11/11). 
  • Graduate transfer forward TJ Parham tallied 14 points and seven rebounds at Tennessee State (11/5).

  • HOME OPENERS: Cincinnati's 81-59 win over Drake improved the Bearcats' all-time record in home openers to 86-11, including a 26-2 mark inside Fifth Third Arena. The victory was the first of the John Brannen coaching era at UC. He improves to 5-0 in home openers during his career. 
  • STREAK EXTENDED: Brannen became the ninth UC coach in a row to win his home opener, joining Ed Jucker, Tay Baker, Gale Catlett, Ed Badger, Tony Yates, Bob Huggins, Andy Kennedy and Mick Cronin. George Smith was the last UC coach to lose the first home game of his Bearcats coaching tenure when UC fell 77-76 to No. 11 WKU at Cincinnati Gardens. 
  • JAEVIN'S 3-POINTER STREAK: UC grad transfer guard Jaevin Cumberland entered Tuesday having made at least one 3-pointer in 35 consecutive games, including at least one in every game last season. It marks the sixth longest streak in the NCAA. Eastern Illinois' Mack Smith ranks first at 51 consecutive games.
  • Jaevin Cumberland made five 3-pointers against Drake (11/11). It marked the eighth time in his career he has made at least five 3-pointers in a game. He made a career-high seven 3-pointers at Hartford (12/16/18) and later against Coach John Brannen's NKU (3/11/19) squad in the Horizon League Tournament last season.
  • Jaevin Cumberland ranked among the nation's leaders in 3-pointers per game (22nd at 3.3), three attempted (28th at 273) and 3-point field goal percentage (50th at .399) a year ago.
  • NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER: Cincinnati plays a school-record eight games in November this season. The previous mark was seven November games to start the 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns. 
  • The 2019-20 season opener on Nov. 6 at No. 18 Ohio State marked the earliest start to a season in school history. 
  • This year, Cincinnati plays three games in a season before Nov. 15 for only the third time school history (2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons).
