CINCINNATI – Former University of Cincinnati men's basketball great Corie Blount will be honored as the program's legend when the Bearcats take on Iowa in the Chicago Legends event Saturday, Dec. 21 at the United Center.
Blount averaged 9.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks during two seasons as a Bearcat, helping lead Cincinnati to the NCAA Tournament's Final Four in 1992 and Elite Eight in 1993. A first-round draft pick of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, Blount went on to play 11 years in the league.
Blount will be recognized at halftime of the Cincinnati-Iowa game that tips at 9 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network and 700 WLW. The matchup is the second game of a doubleheader that follows Dayton playing Colorado at 6:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Tickets for the game can be purchased online at GoBearcats.com/Chicago.
A legend from all four participating teams will be honored during the games. Other former players recognized will include Iowa's Ronnie Lester, Dayton's Roosevelt Chapman and Colorado's Donnie Boyce.
In addition to honoring a legend from each school, the event will also honor two Chicagoans who have made a lasting impact on the legacy of the sport. The 2019 Selection Committee will cast their votes to decide these Legends. The final selection will be announced in December.
