The Turning Point: After a sluggish first half, the Bearcats came out on fire in the second half, opening with 5-of-5 shooting from the field to open up a big lead.
Leaders: Cincinnati had four players finish the game in double-digit scoring with Chris Vogt leading the way with his first double-double with the Bearcats and the second of his career after pouring in a game-high 18 points and snagging 10 boards. He was joined by Trevon Scott (16), Jaevin Cumberland (13) and Keith Williams (11) in double figures while Cameron Alford led the Bulldogs with 10 points.

- With the win, Cincinnati moved to 2-1 on the year and 2-0 at home while Alabama A&M fell to 0-3 overall, all on the road
- IN THE SERIES: Tonight's game was the first in the all-time series. It also marked the 18th time the Bearcats have played a member of the SWAC with UC moving to 18-0 all-time against the conference.
- Offensively, Cincinnati scored 50 points in the second half, the most it has scored in a half this season after scoring 44 in the first half against Drake last time out.
- Defensively, the 53 points allowed tonight are the fewest in a game so far this season, bettering the 59 Drake scored November 11. For the season, UC is allowing 58.7 points per contest so far.
- The 42 rebounds pulled down by the team are the most in a game this year, surpassing the 40 recorded against Drake. The Bearcats recorded 29 in the first half alone.
- HALFTIME REPORT: The first half to a close with the Bearcats holding a 35-23 lead over the Bulldogs as both teams battled through a sluggish start that saw them combine for 24 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes of play. Chris Vogt tallied a game-high 10 points in the opening stanza to reach double-digits for the second game in a row and fifth time in his career while Jaevin Cumberland chipped in eight. Brandon Miller led the way for Alabama A&M as he scored a team-high six points. Overall, the Bulldogs committed more turnovers (11) and the made baskets (8-of-32) while the Bearcats had just one more made hoop (14-of-31) than turnovers (13).
- For the third time this season, the Bearcats limited its opponent to 25 or less points after holding Alabama A&M to 23. Previously, Cincinnati limited Ohio State to 19 points in the opener while holding Drake to 25 last time out.
// PLAYER NOTES
- Chris Vogt recorded his first double-double of the season and his first with the Bearcats as he scored a season-high 18 points and added a season-best 10 rebounds. The last time he recorded a double-double came last season (January 24, 2019) with Northern Kentucky as he scored 20 points and recorded 14 rebounds against Green Bay. Tonight, he finished 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the free throw line while adding a pair of assists as well.
- Jaevin Cumberland made his first start with the Bearcats and scored 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field which also saw him go 3-of-7 from three. With those makes, he ran his current streak to 36 games in a row with at least one trey, the sixth-longest active streak in the NCAA.
- Trevon Scott continues to grab rebounds this season as the redshirt senior pulled down eight more tonight. After games of 12 at Ohio State and 11 vs. Drake, Scott now has 31 boards on the year, giving him an average of over 10 rebounds per game. Additionally, the 31 rebounds is his highest three-game output with UC after he recorded 29 in a three-game span last year, including nine at UCF (3/7/19), eight in home finale against Houston (3/10/19) and 12 in the AAC Tournament opener against SMU (3/15/19).
- Three freshmen posted career-high point totals tonight with Jeremiah Davenport leading the way as he scored six points, doubling his previous best of three that he scored at Ohio State. Mika Adams-Woods posted five points after scoring a career-high two against Drake Tuesday while Zach Harvey also doubled his previous high with four points after scoring two against Drake earlier this week.
