CINCINNATI - Aaron Bienenfeld, a senior on the University of Cincinnati cross country team and recent winner of the men's individual title at the 2019 NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships Saturday in Madison, Wis., has elected to forgo competing in the upcoming NCAA Cross Country Championships (November 23 in Terre Haute, Ind.) to pursue a spot on the German U23 national team one final time.
A four-time winner in four races this season, Bienenfeld will return to his native Germany this upcoming weekend to compete in the 2019 German U23 Cross Country Trials. There, he will try to earn a spot on the U23 team that will compete in the 2019 SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon, Portugal, December 8.

With the cross country season now having finished, the Bearcats will turn their attention to the start of the indoor track & field season that gets underway Friday, November 22, with the program's annual Red vs. Black intrasquad meet. The competition begins at 2 p.m. inside Armory Fieldhouse on campus.
