CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati tight end Josiah Deguara (Folsom, California/Folsom) accepted an invitation to the 2020 Reese's Senior Bowl.

Deguara is the 37th UC player to earn a spot in the prestigious showcase and the first since Chris Moore in 2015. Former Bearcats Jack Lee (1960) and Isaiah Pead (2011) were Senior Bowl Most Valuable Players.

The 2020 Reese's Senior Bowl will be played at Ladd Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, on Jan. 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast live on the NFL Network.

Deguara is UC's leading receiver in 2019 with 30 receptions for 424 yards and seven TDs. For his career, he has 83 catches for 1,037 yards and 12 scores.

Among UC tight ends, he ranks second all-time in receiving yards and touchdowns to Brent Celek (2003-06) who had 91 receptions for 1,135 yards and 14 TDs. Deguara is third in receptions, behind Celek (91) and Kris Bjorson (1989-92 / 90).

The Senior Bowl is the nation's most unique football game and football's premier senior showcase event. Now in its 71st season, the event annually features the country's best senior collegiate football players and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South who are coached by the entire coaching staffs of two National Football League teams.

Deguara and the No. 17 Bearcats close out the regular-season home schedule Saturday, facing Temple at 7 p.m. ET inside Nippert Stadium. UC (9-1, 6-0 AAC) is riding an eight-game winning streak and 12-straight at home. Temple (7-3, 4-2 AAC) is on a two-game winning streak, knocking off USF and Tulane. The game will air on ESPN2 and air on 700 WLW AM.
