CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati volleyball completed another sweep in conference play as it took down Temple on Friday night at Fifth Third Arena.

• Jordan Thompson led all in the match with 15 kills and made it a double-double with 11 digs
• Adria Oliver had a stellar night, earning 12 kills on .529 hitting while leading the team with four blocks, including one solo
• Maria Mallon also reached double-digits in kills with ten while finishing with a team-high 16 digs
• Armania Heckenmueller had 40 assists on the night with seven digs
• Mackenzie Conner had 12 digs and three assists

Set 1: UC 25-13
It was all Bearcats in the opening set. A Temple kill started the match but the next four points were from UC as Mallon, Thompson and Karoline Fauske all contributed with kills. Another 4-0 run later on from a Fauske kill, attack error, Oliver kill and Oliver and Heckenmueller block put the score at 11-3. The Owls were able to string together five-straight points of their own, but the Bearcats answered with a 5-0 run to answer. Mallon had back-to-back kills and Fauske and Damjana Cabarkapa each had one. A Temple error made it a 19-10 set. UC scored the final three points of the set on two Thompson kills and a Kerstin Ficker ace.
Set 2: UC 25-14
UC cruised to another set victory in the second. This time the Bearcats got the scoring started on a Thompson kill. A big 7-0 run put UC out to an 8-2 advantage. Three kills and two blocks, including a solo block by Thompson, helped swell the lead. The Owls were able to bring the lead to within three, 15-12, but Thompson responded with back-to-back kills. Another 7-0 run closed out the set. Oliver started it with a kill, Thompson followed with one of her own, then Oliver connected on three-straight kills. Mallon added in another before Oliver ended it on a block.
Set 3: UC 25-19
The third set was close until the Bearcats pulled away about midway through. Temple kept it close by tying the set at six, seven and eight before a 3-0 run courtesy of Mallon as she had a kill and served up two aces. Temple tied the set again, 13-13-, on a 3-0 run and and once again at 15. However, yet another 3-0 run, this time by the Bearcats on two Mallon kills and a Thompson kills, switched the momentum back to UC. Leading 18-15 at that point, the Bearcats did not let the Owls threaten again. Thompson made it match-point with a kill before Oliver captured the win on a kill.
