The inaugural American Athletic Conference volleyball tournament is set for this weekend on the campus of UCF in Orlando, Florida.
With a reigning AAC record of 15-1, the Bearcats earned the No. 1 seed and have a bye into the semifinals. UC's first game will be Saturday, November 23 at 3:30 p.m. against the winner of Friday's Houston/Tulane match.
The AAC Tournament Champion will be crowned on Sunday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. That match will be aired live on ESPNU. The winner will receive an automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

• UC beat SMU in straight sets at home on October 27
• The Bearcats handed the Knights both of their conference losses. UC swept the Knights at Fifth Third Arena then won two weeks ago 3-1 at The Venue
• When Houston was undefeated in AAC play, UC handed it its first defeat with a 3-2 win on the road
• UC's only loss this year came at Tulane on October 18
• The Bearcats closed out the regular season with a sweep of Tulsa at home last Sunday

• For an unprecedented third time, Jordan Thompson was the unanimous AAC Player of the Year, as announced by the conference on Wednesday
• Thompson once again leads the nation in kills, kills per set, points and points per set
• She became the AAC career leader in kills last season and the UC leader this season
• She holds the AAC and UC records for single-season and single-match kills, resetting the latter with a 50 kill match this season, becoming just the seventh player in the NCAA to ever do so
• In the final regular season match, Thompson reached 2,500 career kills, putting her at No. 9 in the NCAA record book
• She is also on pace to become the first player in UC history to ever average more than 5.00 kills per set in her career
• Maria Mallon landed on the All-AAC First Team for the second-straight year
• The sophomore ranks fourth in the conference in kills per set, third in aces, fifth in points and 13th in digs per set, proving to be an all-around threat
• Armania Heckenmueller leads the nation in assists per set and has led the Bearcats to the fourth-best hitting percentage in the nation, earning herself a spot on the All-AAC Second Team
• Adria Oliver also was named to the second team as she is second in the conference in hitting percentage

• A tournament win will secure the conference's bid into the NCAA Tournament, but the Bearcats are also posed to receive an at-large, if needed, with a current RPI of 25
• The 2019 NCAA Selection Show will air live on Sunday, December 1 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU
• Before the AAC Tournament existed, the Bearcats received NCAA at-large bids in 2016 and 2018, the only AAC team to ever do so
