INDIANAPOLIS - University of Cincinnati swimming took down two meet records and one program record Saturday to complete day two at the House of Champions hosted by IUPUI.
Camryn Streid broke the UC record in the 400 IM while Michael Balcerak beat the 100 fly and Maddie Exton the 200 free meet records. The women maintained their lead in the meet while the men moved up from third place to second.
// PODIUM FINISHES
• The Bearcats started the night with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Swims by Jaclyn Klimczak, Victoria Hunt, Lina Kutsko and Abby Johnston brought in a time of 1:41.79
• The men finished third in the 200 medley relay with Joey Puglessi, Dominic Polling, Balcerak and Remington Oland competing in the event
• Individually, Kutsko won the 100 fly (53.91)
• UC also won the 100 fly thanks to Balcerak's record swim of 47.35
• Streid's time of 4:16.60 in the 400 IM was a UC record and good for second place
• Spencer Sehlhorst brought in another win for the Bearcats in the 400 IM (3:52.19) with teammate Dalton Lillibridge finishing second
• Exton won the 200 free with a time of 1:48.11 and set the meet record with a 1:47.82 in prelims
• The women's 200 free was a Bearcats sweep with Rocky Laabs coming to the wall second and Sydney St. Rose-Finear third
• Polling placed second in the 100 breast• Polling placed second in the 100 breast
• Puglessi had a strong swim in the 100 back to win the event with a time of 48.46
• The women had a five-second victory in the 800 free relay (7:20.76) with performances by Katie Qualls, Maddie Hannan, Molly Chelovitz and Katherine Connolly
• The men just missed a win in the 800 free relay. Polling, Balcerak, Murat Sagdullaev and Kevin Leibold finished in second
