- Valparaiso reached the third-place game of the Paradise Jam after defeating Grand Canyon 78-74 on Friday and losing to Nevada 84-59 on Sunday.
- The Crusaders have three players averaging double figures in scoring, including sophomore guard Javon Freeman-Liberty (22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and a team-high 12 3-pointers), senior swingman Ryan Fazekas (13.0 points in two games) and junior guard Nick Robinson (10.7 points, 5.7 rebounds).
- Freeman-Liberty was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday, Nov. 18 after pouring in a career-high 30 points in a come-from-behind 89-76 road victory at SIUE on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
- Freeman-Liberty and Fazekas both earned All-MVC Second Team honors and Valpo was picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll, based on a survey of the conference's head coaches, sports information directors and media.

- Cincinnati leads the series with Valparaiso 4-1 overall, having won the last four meetings. The Bearcats own a 3-1 leads in Cincinnati and 1-0 advantage in Valparaiso, Ind.
