Forrest Named AAC Defensive Player of the Week

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati safety Darrick Forrest (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge) was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati safety Darrick Forrest (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge) was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
 
Forrest had a team-high eight tackles and made a game-clinching interception in Cincinnati's 15-13 win against Temple, clinching The American's East Division title. Forrest's interception came on Temple's final possession, giving the ball back to the Bearcats with 1:19 left.
 
The No. 19 Bearcats (10-1, 7-0 AAC) face a short week, closing out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 against Memphis in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET. UC has clinched a spot in the AAC Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019. 
 
The Bearcats have won their past two games by a combined five points and are winners of nine straight overall and eight in-a-row in league play. Memphis (10-1, 6-1 AAC) is ranked ahead of UC in the College Football Playoff poll and enter on a five-game win streak. The game will air on ABC and 700 WLW AM.
