CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati junior Joe McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier/DePaul) carded a career-low 5-under par 67 Tuesday to tie for sixth place at 5-under 73-71-67=211 at the Kiawah Classic at Turtle Point Golf Course.
McCarthy vaulted 13 places on the leaderboard thanks to a third-round scorecard that featured five birdies and 13 par scores without a bogie. He completed the event with 11 birdies and par or better scores on 49 of 54 holes.
McCarthy becomes the third different Bearcat to finish in the top 10 of a fall tournament this season, joining Sam Jean and Clay Amlung, who each tied for sixth at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 27.

Freshman Cole Harris (Carmel, Ind./Carmel HS) strung together three consecutive 1-over 73 scores for the tournament to finish tied for 43rd at 3-over 219.
Sophomore Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham HS) moved up 29 places in the standings Tuesday with a 4-under 68 to finish tied for 55th place at 6-over 78-76-68=222. His final round included an eagle on the 13th hole to go with four birdies and a pair of bogies.

Auburn won the 21-team event at 31-under 274-282-277=833. Auburn's Jovan Rebula led wire-to-wire to claim individual medalist honors at 13-under 64-66-73=203.
