// TEAM NOTES
- With the victory, Cincinnati improved to 6-2 on the year while Vermont fell to 6-4 overall.
- IN THE SERIES: Tonight marked the first meeting in the series between Cincinnati and Vermont.
- Cincinnati scored 80-plus points for the fifth time this year, scoring its third-highest total of the year and its second-highest total in a non-overtime game, trailing only the 85 points UC scored in its 85-53 home win over Alabama A&M.
- The Bearcats did not go into overtime tonight, snapping a streak of three games in a row. Had Cincinnati and Vermont reached overtime, the Bearcats would have tied the NCAA record for consecutive games going to overtime.
- HALFTIME REPORT: Cincinnati led, 40-27, at the break, hitting the 40-point mark for the third time this season as five Bearcats scored points in the opening stanza with all having at least seven. The 13-point advantage also marked the second highest of the season for Cincinnati behind only the 19-point lead it built against Drake in the home opener. Jaevin Cumberland led the charge with nine points while both Trevon Scott, Keith Williams and Jarron Cumberland chipped in eight each and Chris Vogt seven. Three Catamounts scored six to lead the way for the visitors, who shot 9-of-25 from the floor with seven of those makes (7-of-12) coming from three.
- Cincinnati shot 12-of-19 from behind the arc, setting a pair of season-highs in the process. The 12 makes surpassed the 11 tallied against Drake in the home opener while the 63.6% shooting easily surpassed the Drake game in which UC was 42.3% (11-of-26).
- Tonight marked the fewest turnovers committed by Cincinnati this season with 11. The previous best was 12, which came Saturday against UNLV.
- The Bearcats scored 24 points in the paint to mark the eighth time this season they have scored at least 24 in the lane.
- Williams (23) and Jaevin Cumberland (21) each scored at least 20 points tonight, marking the first time UC has had two 20-point scorers in the same game since March 11, 2017, when Gary Clark (25) and Jacob Evans (20) accomplished the feat against UConn in the AAC Tournament.
- Trevon Scott had a big night for the Bearcats as the senior scored 13 points and added 12 rebounds for his seventh career double-double and his second of the season. His 12 boards ties his season and career-highs after he pulled down 12 at Ohio State to open the season. His first double-double this year came against Valparaiso when he scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the overtime win.
- Keith Williams also was huge for the Bearcats as he finished the game with a career-high 23 points that saw him shoot a perfect 4-of-4 from three and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Williams' previous career-high was 19 points against UCLA last year (12/19/18), making tonight's game his first 20-point performance. He also tied a career-high with five assists (vs. Tulsa, 1/24/19) and adding five rebounds on the night.
- Jaevin Cumberland finished the night with 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting with all five of his makes coming from beyond the arc. The 21 points ties his season-best after he also scored 21 against Bowling Green (11/24/19) earlier this year. His 12th career 20-plus performance (10 with Oakland last year, two with Cincinnati this year), Cumberland also was 6-of-8 from the free-throw line as well.
