TicketsPROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati women's basketball's Angel Rizor (Zebulon, N.C./East Wake) has been selected for the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The senior forward averaged 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game as the Bearcats (5-4) went 2-0 last week.
Rizor added 13 points, six rebounds, four steals, three assists, and the game-winning buzzer beater in a 58-56 win Thursday at VCU. She followed with a career-high-tying 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists in a dominant 98-68 victory Sunday over Miami (OH).
Entering Monday, the senior ranks in a tie for ninth in the league in rebounding with 7.3 rebounds per game. The North Carolina native is also second in the AAC in free-throw shooting (82.6%), tied for 11th in steals (1.9 SPG), and 12th in offensive rebounds (2.9 RPG).
Rizor's recognition marks the fourth time this season UC has received weekly conference honors. Recently, junior forward IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) was tabbed AAC Player of the Week on Nov. 25. Additionally, the accolade is the second of Rizor's career after landing on the weekly honor roll on March 5, 2019.
