- The University of Cincinnati (6-3) men's basketball team welcomes Colgate to Fifth Third Arena on Saturday. The game tips at 7 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Ohio (ESPN3 outside the FSO viewing area) and 700 WLW.
- The Bearcats are coming off a 73-66 setback at Xavier on Saturday, Dec. 7, in the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout. A season-high five UC players scored in double figures, led by Keith Williams, who tallied a team-high 15 points and career-best nine rebounds. Jaevin Cumberland added 14 points.
- Colgate (7-4) posted a 66-58 home win over Cornell on Wednesday. Four Raiders scored in double figures led by Keegan Records' career-high 12 points.
- Saturday marks the first meeting between Cincinnati and Colgate in series history.
- UP NEXT: Cincinnati wraps up its non-league home schedule by playing host to nationally ranked Tennessee on Wednesday, Dec. 18. The game tips at 7 p.m. ET and will broadcast by ESPN2 and 700 WLW.
- Colgate was picked to win the Patriot League in 2019-20 according to a preseason poll of the league's coaches and sports information directors. Junior guard Jordan Burns and senior forward Rapolas Ivanauskas were named to the preseason All-Patriot League team.
- The Raiders set the school record for wins last season, finishing 24-11 overall and 13-5 in the Patriot League. Colgate won its last 11 games before falling to Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. Colgate also claimed its first Patriot League title since 1996.
- Burns (16.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, team-high 32 3-pointers) scored 40 points with eight 3-pointers against Green Bay in November. He handed out a singe-season school-record 157 assists a year ago.
- Ivanauskas (12.3 points, 7.4 rebounds), the Patriot League Player of the Year and honorable mention All-American a year ago, was a four-star high school prospect from Illinois, who transferred to Colgate after two seasons at Northwestern.
- The Raiders entered Wednesday ranked sixth in the nation, averaging 10.8 3-pointers per game.
- Head coach Matt Langel is in his ninth season leading the Colgate program. He has been named the Patriot League Coach of the Year each of the last two seasons.
- Saturday marks the first meeting in series history.
- Cincinnati owns a 4-6 (.333) all-time mark against current members of the Patriot League: American (1-0), Army (0-1), Boston U (2-1), Bucknell (0-0), Colgate (0-0), Holy Cross (1-3), Lafayette (0-0), Lehigh (0-0), Loyola [Md.] (0-0) and Navy (0-1).
- MYKA MAKING NOISE: Freshman guard Myka Adams-Woods has scored 10 points in three of UC's last four games. During the stretch he is shooting 72.2 percent (13 of 18) from the floor and 62.5 percent (5 of 8) from beyond the arc while averaging 9.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 21.5 minutes.
- FANTASTIC FOUR: Cincinnati has placed at least four players in double figures in eight consecutive games since losing at then-No. 18 Ohio State in the season opener. Chris Vogt has scored 10 or more points in each of those eight contests, including a career-high 21 against Valparaiso (11/25). Keith Williams has scored 10-plus six times during the stretch, including his career-high 23-point effort against Vermont (12/3).
- FREE IS ME: Cincinnati entered Wednesday ranked 10th in the nation in free throws attempted (241) and 27th in free throws made (160).
- UC has attempted more free throws than its opponent in each of the last seven games (206-110).
- The Bearcats shot 55 free throws against Bowling Green (11/24). It tied for the third most attempts in a single game in school history. The Bearcats also attempted 55 free throws against UAB during the 1997-98 season. The single-game school record is 59 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff during 2015-16.
- THREE OT GAMES IN A ROW: Cincinnati played three overtime games in a row from Nov. 24 through Nov. 30 posting a 2-1 mark.
- It marked the most consecutive overtimes played in school history and fell one short of tying the NCAA record set by Jacksonville (1982), Illinois State (1985) and Dayton (1988).
- During the stretch the Bearcats split a pair of overtime decisions at the Paradise Jam. UC fell to Bowling Green 91-84 in OT in the semifinals before outlasting Valparaiso 81-77 in OT in the third-place game. The Bearcats returned home and had to hold off UNLV 71-65 in an extra period.
- Cincinnati saw its modest four-game win streak in overtime contests end when it suffered a 91-84 setback to Bowling Green (11/24). It ranked as the sixth longest active overtime win streak in the nation.
- The Bearcats have won six of their last seven overtime games since dropping a 104-97 decision to UConn in four overtimes during the quarterfinals of the 2016 AAC Tournament.
