University of Cincinnati baseball begins midweek play this Tuesday at Indiana. The game is set to start at 3 p.m.

• Starting outfielder Joey Wiemer and Sunday's starting pitcher Garrett Schoenle have both got out to good starts this season
• Wiemer slid into the cleanup spot in the lineup the last two games and currently ranks third in batting average in the conference after hitting an even .500 this past series
• The sophomore is also third in on-base percentage, tied for fifth in walks and tied for eighth in hits in the AAC
• Fellow sophomore Schoenle sits in a tie for sixth in the conference in ERA with a 2.00
• Opponents are hitting just .192 against him, tied for the ninth lowest among AAC foes

• A trio of position players made their UC debuts this past weekend at Houston Baptist
• Redshirt-sophomore JP Bitzenhofer came to the plate in each game and walked in his first time at the plate as a Bearcat
• Freshman Nate Meyer pinch ran on Friday then earned his first collegiate start playing left field on Sunday
• In the twelve-inning victory in the finale, he executed a sacrifice bunt to move what would be the game-winning run into scoring position
• Meyer also recorded the final out, catching a fly ball when HBU had bases loaded with two outs
• Freshman Griffin Merritt had a pinch hit opportunity in the sixth inning on Sunday for his first collegiate appearance
// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
• Indiana sits at 2-4 this season
• The Hoosiers started the year at Memphis, taking the series after winning 6-1, losing 6-3 then winning 6-0
• This past weekend they faced a tough Tennessee team and got swept by scores of 5-1, 11-0 and 5-3
• UC knocked off Indiana on the road last season in midweek action when the Hoosiers were ranked No. 12 in the nation by a final score of 8-3
• The Bearcats are 11-16 all-time against the Hoosiers
• The two teams will meet again this year at Marge Schott Stadium on March 13
