University of Cincinnati baseball returns home to begin an eight-game homestand this week. First up is two midweek games with No. 7 Louisville visiting on Tuesday and Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday. Both matchups are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

The Bearcats welcome President Pinto's Staff Appreciation Day on Tuesday
• There will be $1 popcorn available at the concession stand
• On Wednesday, the first 250 fans will receive a retro logo coaster courtesy of Formica
 
// OPPONENT OVERVIEW
• UC is 85-100 all-time against Louisville
• The last time the Cardinals visited Cincinnati they were ranked No. 1 in the nation and the Bearcats captured a 6-3 victory
• Last season the two teams played in Louisville with UC losing that game
• The Cardinals are coming off a series victory against No. 22 Miami
• The weekend prior they swept No. 2 NC State on the road
• UC is 28-33 all-time against EKU
• The two teams last matched up in 2005 with the Bearcats winning 8-4 at home
• The Bearcats have won the last seven meetings with the last win by the Colonels coming in Cincinnati in 1997
• This past weekend, EKU lost two of three games against Jacksonville State
 
// JOHNSON LANDS ON AAC HONOR ROLL
• Bearcats center fielder Jeremy Johnson was named to this week's American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for his performance in the last four games
• He started the week with two hits and three RBI with two walks and a run scored in a big win over Miami
• Johnson followed that with two more hits on Thursday and Friday at Houston and a final hit in the form of a double in the series finale on Saturday
• Through the four games he hit .583 and did not strike out but walked five times for a .706 on-base percentage
• He had ten putouts and an outfield assist while starting every game in center field

• UC's defense continues to dazzle. The Bearcats rank ninth in the nation in double plays and 13th in double plays per game
• The Bearcats' .978 fielding percentage is the 28th-highest in the country
• The team also ranks 33rd in triples with 13 so far this season
• In the conference, UC is fourth in sacrifice flies and second in stolen bases while fielding a conference-high 39 double plays
• The Bearcats sit in a tie for third place in the conference after the weekend at 8-7
• Eight of the nine conference teams qualify for the AAC Tournament in May in Clearwater, Florida
 
// LOOKING AHEAD
• UC's home schedule continues with a three-game series against Wichita State this weekend
• Friday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m. and Saturday's for 4 p.m.
• Because of the Shockers' travel, Sunday's game has been moved up to a noon start time
• After a break from midweek action due to finals week, the Bearcats host nationally-ranked ECU May 3-5
