University of Cincinnati baseball has modified its weekend schedule for the three-game series against No. 8 ECU.
 
Due to forecasted inclement weather, the teams will play a double header on Friday with the first game beginning at 2:30 p.m. and the second game starting approximately 45 minutes after the completion of the first. There will be no game on Saturday. The series finale remains Sunday at 1 p.m. with Senior Day ceremonies beginning at 12:35 p.m.

// SENIOR RECOGNITION
• The team's eight seniors will be recognized prior to Sunday's game
A.J. Bumpass, Clayton Colvin, Mason DeAnna, Cal Jarrett, A.J. Kullman, Cole Murphy, David Orndorff and Tanner Schimmoeller will be honored pregame for their dedication and contributions to the program
• The senior day ceremony is slated to begin at approximately 12:35 p.m.
• Additionally, Bumpass, Colvin, DeAnna, Tristan Hammans, Jarrett, Kullman and Schimmoeller are all graduating this weekend
• Orndorff received his degree last spring
 
// OPPONENT OVERVIEW
• No. 8 ECU has been ranked nationally since the start of the season
• The Pirates lead the American Athletic Conference with a 13-2 record, losing 2-0 in the opening game at Houston and in their most recent contest against Tulane by a score of 9-8
• UC is 6-16-2 all-time against ECU
• The Bearcats traveled to the No. 10 Pirates last year and nearly won the series
• Game one was won 4-3 with back-to-back homeruns in the ninth inning. Game two was a 12-6 defeat
• In last year's finale, the Bearcats led 5-1 through seven innings, but the Pirates were able to work their way back and win it with a walk-off base hit in the ninth
 
// CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK
• There are just three weekends left of the regular season until the top eight teams in the American travel to Clearwater, Florida, for the conference tournament
• Entering the weekend, ECU leads at 13-2, followed by Tulane at 9-5 and UC at 11-7|
• Houston sits in fourth at 9-9, UConn is fifth at 7-8 and Memphis sixth with a  6-8 record
• UCF (7-11), Wichita State (5-10) and USF (4-11) round out the standings
• Tulane and Houston both hold the tiebreaker over UC while UC won the series against UConn and is yet to play Memphis
• After this weekend, ECU faces Wichita State and Memphis
• Tulane hosts UCF, travels to Houston, then hosts UConn
• Houston hosts Tulane then travels to UCF
• AAC Tournament games are set to begin on Tuesday, May 21
• The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament

• With 46 double plays this year, UC ranks sixth in the nation in double plays and seventh in double plays per game
• The Bearcats' fielding percentage of .978 ranks 26th
• UC has also been successful on the base paths, stealing 76 bases which ranks 28th in the nation
Jace Mercer, Jeremy Johnson and Joey Wiemer all sit in the top 75 in the nation in stolen bases
A.J. Bumpass, who became UC and the AAC's career leader in triples earlier this year, is 35th in triples with four
