Women’s Basketball Falls at Tulane, 64-59

NEW ORLEANS – University of Cincinnati women's basketball saw its two-game win streak snapped Saturday with a 64-59 loss to Tulane at Devlin Fieldhouse.

NEW ORLEANS – University of Cincinnati women's basketball saw its two-game win streak snapped Saturday with a 64-59 loss to Tulane at Devlin Fieldhouse.
 
Down by 12 points late in the third quarter, UC (11-6, 2-2 AAC) stormed back in the fourth, taking a 57-56 lead with 2:40 left to play. The game went back and forth down the stretch with the Green Wave (10-8, 5-0 AAC) converting on the offensive end and making the necessary stops on defense to down the Bearcats.
 
Senior guard Antoinette Miller (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) scored a game-high 20 points, including 15 in the second half, for her fifth 20-point outing of the season. Junior forward IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) pitched in her fifth double-double of 2019-20 with 12 points and a team-best 11 rebounds. Senior forward Angel Rizor (Zebulon, N.C./East Wake) added 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
 
UC struggled from the field with 31% shooting, but knocked down 13-of-19 from the free-throw line. The Bearcats capitalized on 18 Green Wave turnovers with 17 points. In addition, the Red & Black scored 20 points in the paint, converted 13 offensive rebounds into 12 second-chance points, and dished out 12 assists on 21 made field goals.
