CINCINNATI – A trio of University of Cincinnati men's soccer student-athletes have been recognized by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) as NCAA Division I All-Ohio.
Junior goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Sacred Heart) and senior forward Rex Epps (Irmo, S.C./Dutch Fork/Army West Point) were both selected as Academic All-Ohio, while senior defender Donovan Segree (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Daytona State) was named All-Ohio.
A sport administration major with a 3.68 cumulative grade point average (GPA), Lawrence started 15 matches in 2019. Between the pipes, he saved an American Athletic Conference-best 63 shots with a 65% save percentage while also aiding in a pair of Bearcats shutouts. In addition, he was picked as the AAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Oct. 7 and was tabbed for the league Weekly Honor Roll on Sept. 9.
Epps, an interdisciplinary studies major who graduated in December 2019 with a 3.69 GPA, played in 15 matches in the fall, scoring a pair of goals. The forward added the game-winner at Tulsa and also tallied a score against Cleveland State. The senior was tabbed for the AAC Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 21.
Segree started all 17 matches of the 2019 season, logging 1400 minutes of play. He scored the game-winner vs. Bowling Green and dished out 3 assists, including the game-winning helper against Albany. Additionally, he aided in two Bearcats shutouts on the year and was a second team All-AAC selection.
The All-Ohio accolades are the first of the players' careers. UC men's soccer has had at least one All-Ohio honoree every season since 2006.
The Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association is one of the oldest and most prestigious college soccer associations in the nation. The OCSA represents all National Collegiate Athletic Association divisions (NCAA), all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics divisions (NAIA) and all National Junior College Athletic Association divisions (NJCAA) in Ohio.
