I am currently a junior at UC and was born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I play on the tennis team and I originally came to UC because I had a former doubles partner who loved her experience. My family is fairly active, as I was always put in swimming, skating and other physical activities at a young age. I was constantly motivated and pushed to be active as my mom is a marathon runner and inspires me to reach the goals she has accomplished. My parents always reminded me that hard work will eventually pay off in every aspect of life. They invested a lot of time in bettering me both academically and physically, through sending me to tutoring sessions after school and academies where I could benefit from high level coaches. I would say that my motivation stems from my nature as I am a very competitive person. Winning drives me to put in extra effort and time. However, UC has taught me the importance of being a team. The support and encouragement you can give to others whether it be as a simple as cheering or checking in on someone makes a difference in their lives. I love the atmosphere and motto of " One Team" that UC incorporates in its athletic community and I want to incorporate it in my future endeavours.
