TicketsUniversity of Cincinnati swimming and diving received three of the American Athletic Conference weekly honors after a big meet at nationally-ranked Northwestern last Friday. Claire Schuermann was named Women's Diver of the Week, Michael Balcerak the Men's Swimmer of the Week and Lina Kutsko the Women's Swimmer of the Week.
Schuermann added yet another weekly award to her list as she made the podium twice at No. 16 Northwestern. The senior scored a 296.03 on 3-meter to finish second and won 1-meter with a score of 272.48.
Balcerak continued his strong rookie campaign with two individual wins against the No. 21 men's Wildcats. He swam the 100 fly in 47.63 then posted the fastest time in the conference this season in the 200 fly with a 1:44.98, also a NCAA B-cut time.
Kutsko also had success in the fly as she won the 100 fly in 53.14 for a NCAA B-cut. She was second to the wall in her other individual event, the 50 free, coming in at 23.18.
