University of Cincinnati swimming and diving was recognized by the by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) this week as a Scholar All-America Team for the 2019 fall semester as both the men and women's teams excelled in the classroom.
The CSCAA handed out the distinction to 762 individual teams across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions. To qualify, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the semester.
Both the Bearcats men and women sit at the top of the conference. The men's mark of 3.22 is second to SMU at 3.28. UC's women earned a 3.55 this past fall, with ECU being the only American Athletic Conference team with a higher GPA of 3.61.
The program's success in the pool and in the classroom have made it the premier program in the AAC. Cincinnati's men will look to three-peat at the AAC Championships in February while the women will look to build on back-to-back runner-up finishes.
