CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics sends its best wishes to former Bearcats tight end Travis Kelce ahead of Super Bowl LIV this weekend in Miami, Florida.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is making his first Super Bowl appearance. Kelce was on the squad at UC from 2008-12, starting at quarterback and later making the the move to tight end. He was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft with the first pick of the third round, the No. 61 choice overall. Since 2013, Kelce is a five-time Pro Bowler and a four-time All-Pro. He holds the NFL record for most seasons with 1,000 yards receiving by a tight end (4). He is the younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce, also a former Bearcats standout from 2007-10.

Kelce was one of the top tight ends in the country in 2012, earning First-Team All-BIG EAST honors and finishing as UC's leading receiver with 45 catches for 722 yards and eight scores. He set the UC single-season mark for receptions, yards receiving and touchdowns by a tight end. He caught the game winner in the 2012 Belk Bowl, hauling in an 83-yarder down the seam from QB Brendon Kay with under a minute left in the game. It was the longest scoring play and TD pass in Belk Bowl history. He was selected for the 2013 Senior Bowl and NFL Combine.
