The University of Cincinnati tennis team is set to play host to a pair of duals at home this weekend as the Bearcats will square off with both IUPUI and Western Michigan inside the Western Tennis & Fitness Club in Cincinnati. The Bearcats and Jaguars will meet Friday starting at 5 p.m. before UC closes the weekend with a 1:30 p.m. start Saturday against the Broncos.

• Cincinnati enters the weekend with a 3-2 record and is coming off a split in action last week that saw the Bearcats fall at home to Miami (Ohio), 4-3, before downing host Dayton, 5-2
• Caroline Morton moved into the all-time Top 10 in doubles (t-9th) to go along with her positions in both singles wins (t-7th) and combined wins (10th)
• Emma Miceli collected a pair of wins against Dayton to reach 100 combined in her career
• Maria Santilli is a perfect 4-0 in singles play at the #6 position and has not dropped a set

The win at Dayton Sunday snapped a two-match losing skid for the Bearcats after falling to both Kentucky (5-2) and Miami (4-3). The win also kept alive another streak as UC won its fifth in a row in the series with the Flyers.
// SCOUTING: IUPUI
The Jaguars enter the weekend with a 0-6 record after falling Wednesday night to city rival UIndy, 6-1. Friday's dual will be the fourth in a row on the road for IUPUI after falling at Bradley (5-2) and against Murray State (7-0) in a neutral-site dual at Bradley before their loss to UIndy.
// SERIES HISTORY: BEARCATS vs. JAGUARS
Cincinnati and IUPUI will be meeting for the seventh time in history of the series with the Bearcats holding a 6-0 record. The last time the two teams met was last year on February 8 with the Bearcats claiming a 7-0 victory, their fifth shutout overall and third in a row in the series. UC is 3-0 when the series is played in Cincinnati.
// SCOUTING: WESTERN MICHIGAN
The Broncos head in to the weekend with a 2-3 record on the season and are in the midst of a five dual road trip in which they are currently 1-2. Last time out, WMU won at Butler, 7-0, before falling at Indiana, 4-1. After Saturday's dual in the Queen City, the Broncos will move on to Dayton and face the Flyers Sunday.
// SERIES HISTORY: BEARCATS vs. BRONCOS
The Bearcats currently trail the Broncos, 2-1, in the all-time series with Cincinnati claiming the last meeting, a 4-3 victory February 10, 2019. This weekend's meeting marks the first time the two teams will play in Cincinnati as the first three duals (2004, 2006 and 2019) all were played at WMU.

With a win at #1 doubles in the dual with Dayton Sunday, Caroline Morton moved into the all-time Top 10 in doubles wins at UC as her 54 career victories ties her with Samantha Liu (2002-05), Khushchehr Italia (2000-03) and Ashley Heiman (1986-89) for ninth all-time. Morton is now ranked in the Top 10 in all three categories as she stands tied for seventh with 67 singles victories and 10th with 121 combined victories.
// MIGHTY MICELI
In her two-plus seasons with the Bearcats, Emma Miceli has been collecting wins and, after securing wins at #2 doubles and #4 singles against Dayton, reached the century mark as she tallied her 100th career combined victory at UC. So far, Miceli has tallied 56 wins in singles and added 44 more in doubles.
// IT'S ACADEMIC
The UC Athletics Department has continued to shine academically with the tennis team being toward the top of the list annually. During the 2018-19 academic year, the team amassed a cumulative GPA of 3.727 as nine players earned recognition from the league as AAC All-Academic. The team also was honored with the AAC Team Academic Excellence Award which is given annually to the team with the highest GPA in the league in each sport. The tennis program was one of five UC programs to have the highest GPA in their respective sport for the 2018-19 academic year. Earlier this month, the grades were released for the Fall 2019 semester with tennis once again leading the charge at UC with its 3.796 GPA the best among all women's teams and second overall behind only men's cross country and their 3.829.
// NEXT TIME OUT
Next week, the Bearcats will play the first two of four in a row on the road as they will return to the Volunteer State for a pair of duals with both being played in Murfreesboro, Tenn. First, the Bearcats will take on the host Middle Tennessee State Raiders at 2 p.m. Friday, February 14. The following day, UC and East Tennessee State will play at 2 p.m. in a neutral-site dual hosted by MTSU.
