MILWAUKEE – The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team got a second-half hat trick from Kylie Nause but fell 17-6 to Marquette on Friday afternoon at Valley Fields.
The Bearcats fell to 0-2 on the season while the Golden Eagles evened their record at 1-1. Marquette held a 17-7 edge in draw controls and took advantage of 18 UC turnovers.
Nause's three goals came in the second half, moving her into the season lead with four scores. The Bearcats got single tallies from Monica Borzillo (2), Amanda Fess (3) and the first career goal for Kenna Hancock. Borzillo and Peyton Mottice dished out assists.
Marquette led 10-2 at the break and built on their lead in the second half on the strength of six goals from Megan Menzuber and three from Shea Garcia.

UC continues a two-game road swing on Wednesday, Feb. 19, traveling north to face in-state foe Ohio State at 5 p.m. ET. The Bearcats return home on Wednesday, Feb. 26 against Virginia Tech at 4 p.m. ET inside Gettler Stadium.
