ORLANDO – The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team dropped a 49-42 American Athletic Conference contest to host UCF Saturday afternoon in Orlando, Fla., to see its three-game winning streak halted. The Bearcats (16-8, 7-4 AAC) were led offensively by Angel Rizor's 12 points and 10 from Sam Rodgers as the Knights (15-8, 7-4) evened the season series with the both teams winning on their home courts.

The game was a defensive battle throughout as the two teams combined for 45 turnovers (22 for UC) with the Bearcats limited to 31.6% shooting from the floor compared to UCF's 29.2% shooting. The defense came from the start with the Bearcats not allowing a point to the hosts for the first 6:42 of the game, but led only, 6-2, after UCF's first bucket of the game.

After leading, 10-4, at the end of the first quarter, the Bearcats took a 20-15 lead into halftime. That point total allowed is the fewest of the season, surpassing the previous best of 16 points Coppin State scored in the first half that UC led, 52-16 (12/30/19). The final point total for UC (42) ended up being its lowest output of the season behind a 56-48 loss to Bucknell in Puerto Rico.

In the second half, fouls began to pile up as three Bearcats finished the game with four fouls, including Antoinette Miller, who was limited to just 20 minutes in the game.
